Mamatography Week 16 – Still chilly, but havin’ fun

This week, we celebrated Joseph’s 2nd Birthday with a Thomas the Train themed party.

He was so excited! “My party! My Thomas party!”

Joseph, Abbey and their friends had a great time coloring, playing, and snacking.

We had a small ice cream cake with a Thomas candle for birthday wishes, and my friend Erica made adorable “balloon” cake pops for Thomas to pull down the tracks to Joe’s party.

Joseph was so sweet to all of his guests, especially the youngest, our little neighbor, Noah. I was so proud of his lovely manners.

Later in the week we had friends over for a cookout and the kids got pretty messy in the slightly wet sandbox and newly cleaned up back yard.

“Hey, mom!”

“Oh, yeah, I guess I DO have dirty hands.” LOL

Even though it is still pretty chilly here (Spring, where ARE you?!), we still make sure to get outside to play. It was about 43′ the day I snapped this portrait of Abbey. . . she had just finished having a giant fit about the fact that it was cold, and that she had to wear a helmet while she rode her bike.

And I had to include this “still life” of Joe’s little Wrangler jeans. He is growing up SO fast!

Wordless Wednesday- Manual Portraits in the Chilly Weather

The weather is still pretty chilly here in New England, and we’ve all got allergy symptoms going on, but we still make sure to get outside and play! I decided to take out my Canon Rebel XT again and take some “real” photos (as opposed to iPhone ones!) in manual.

Mamatography Week 49

It’s Week 49! Almost there! January is creeping up on us, and then we’ll start a New Year of fun, family, craziness, and I promise to photograph ALL of it!

Joseph and Abbey LOVE playing in the snow. Here they are catching snowflakes on their tongues! Yummy!

I have been hastily replacing Joseph’s older diapers (those that I sewed at the very beginning of my cloth-diaper sewing journey) with new ones.

While I’ve put the SBH Etsy Shop on Vacation for our Holiday get-away to Texas, I had a bit of extra time to whip up some new and adorable dipes for Joe Joe. The robot PUL print is one of my faves. Too bad I only had a small amount!

We’re saying “so long!” to the snow for a few weeks, as we travel to Texas to spend Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa and my brother, sis-in-law, and family.

Weeks 50-52 will come to you courtesy of my iPhone and Instagram, since we’ll be in Texas vacationing. . . and they actually may post AFTER the New Year.

But, what a fun journey it’s been, documenting the WHOLE year in photos!

Mamatography Week 26

It’s definitely summer! We’ve been having HOT and HUMID temps here in Maine.

LOVING the backyard – pool, sprinkler, sandbox, garden. . we’re good!

Our veggie and fruit garden is growing well. Jed and I had the kids help mulch our front and back gardens this week. I have one “garden salsa” hot pepper that’s already 5 inches long. Almost time to harvest that sucker! And other peppers coming along. . . and our pumpkin plant is doing AWESOME.

Our Pumpkin Plant. Seeded into the lawn and won’t let go. It’s going great. Anyone have tips on how to really get a good harvest or help the pumpkins grow?

Looking forward to many more sprinkler-joy filled afternoons this summer!!!!!

I used to LOVE playing in the sprinkler with my big brother when I was little. I’m going to have to fish out some good pics of those times . . . maybe in the next couple weeks.
