Man, this week FLEW by! And, I don’t have many pictures to show for it.
I can’t believe Summer is over. . .
I mean, I guess we can still do summertime things here in Maine for a few more weeks, but the weather is beginning to cool down, the outdoor pool is closed, and the school-aged kids are busy getting ready for school to start next week. What happened to summer!?
I’ve been doing a lot of sewing and knitting this week – and now that I have an embroidery machine, I have too many spools for my spool holder . . . so I’m utilizing the backside of the book display by the desk to hide away my spools that I’m currently working with! This drives the hubs CRAZY. . .
Currently, I’ve got a Hello Kitty dress in the works for Abbey for her birthday party (her birthday is on the 22nd of Sept, but daddy won’t be back from patrol till later in the fall, so we’re postponing her party til October. . . that gives me plenty of time to finish the dress up.
It’s going to be super cute!
Abbey started full-time preschool at the base Child Development Center this week, and it’s been both delighting her and totally tuckering her out! I snapped this photo when she fell asleep with her light on the other night. Sweet baby girl!
Joseph continues to grow and grow. He’s tall enough now that he can reach the sink (kind of) and “wash” his hands (aka splash the water). He’s also been throwing toys down the stairs, and dropping things into the potty. . .ah, toddlerhood!
I was fabric shopping online and posting my faves to facebook, when a fellow wife from Hubs’ boat commented on my thread, wondering if I could make re-useable snack and sandwich bags for her kids from this fabric. So, I said, “yes! Let me get started on that right away!” and ta-da! I had a custom order. I’m really pleased with the results thus far. I’ll post a pic next week of the finished set!
